The FFCRA at 15 (Days Old): DOL Guidance You Should Know

The FFCRA at 15 (Days Old): DOL Guidance You Should Know

On March 24, 2020, the Department of Labor issued important guidance to all impacted employers on the provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (P.L. 116-127) which was signed into law on March 18. This guidance, in the form of a 36 item Q&A, addresses such topics as: effectivity, retroactivity, calculating applicable pay rates, and health insurance benefits while employees are on leave. We are also expecting further guidance from Treasury/the IRS on this law, and should that be issued by April 1, will do our best to include it in our webinar.

What you will learn

  • The formal declaration of effective date of the law, and what it means to its provisions
  • Details around calculating the 500 employee limit under the law
  • Approved methods for calculating employee work weeks and compensation
  • Health benefits for employees on qualified leave
  • Reconciling IR News Release 2020-57 with Notice 2020-21: the tax credit controversy
    Worksite closings, terminations and furloughs
